On Saturday, December 8 at 8:00 P.M. come hear a wonderful evening of chamber music with pianist Michael Mizrahi, piano professor at Lawrence University. Joining him will be University of Wisconsin at Eau Claire cello professor Tulio Rondón and violinist Marc Levine for a program of trios by Schumann, Fauré and Piazzolla in addition to selections from Michael's acclaimed new solo piano recording, The Bright Motion.

Michael Mizrahi's The Bright Motion works to serve as a revitalization of a classic instrument told through new music ideas with compositions by some of today's most innovative composers: William Brittelle, Ryan Brown, Patrick Burke, Mark Dancigers, Judd Greenstein, and John Mayrose. A "soloist of first rank" (Textura) who is renowned for his work with NOW Ensemble, Moët Trio and The Declassified, almost all of the pieces on Motion were written specifically with Mizrahi's hands, sound, and approach in mind. The result is an album that is masterfully performed, beautifully recorded, and truly singular statement of the piano's indispensable role in modern music today that has been praised by NPR, Alex Ross, WQXR/Q2 Music (Album of the Week), MUSO, and awarded a rare 5-star review in Time Out Chicago.
